Patek Philippe

I believe Patrick has offered some sound advice.

Making a purchase of this magnitude with possibly additional pieces in the future, I would think establishing a relationship with a jeweler is paramount. And that is a two way street which means more than simply spending a large sum on your part, and more than just selling the watch on their part. Of course, I'm sure there are a number of authorized dealers more than willing to do just that, but finding a dealer who will take the time to get to know you and help you with other jewelry purchases forms a relationship more important in the long term than just finding someone to complete this one transaction in the manner you have outlined.

Being a former dealer in a smaller demographic area required me to take the time to establish relationships with folks. I got to know them and they got to know me which resulted in a level of understanding and trust which can be very difficult to establish with some of the larger dealers. I am a strong proponent of smaller dealers in that they are in a unique position to offer a more personal level of service than many of the much larger dealers. Something, which in the future, may be very important to you.

I had many occasions when folks outside my demographic area would call asking for watches and the first question I would ask is where they lived. I would then refer them to the closest dealer in their area. Why? Because my responsibility was to the folks who had established a relationship with me within my demographic area,. They had earned and deserved my loyalty.

In the five years since I ended my relationship with Patek, I've been out of the loop so I'm sure some things have changed but for twenty-seven years, establishing and maintaining client relationships is something which was certainly all important to me. And if you establish a similar relationship, the questions of your post would be answered.

I know you will get the watch, just hope you get more than that.

Best of luck.
