Patek Philippe

I didnt think much of .....

the deployment buckle until I came into contact with one on my Patek.

And from there, I totally understand what your comments about security means. Do not underestimate the deployment clasp. That clip really holds.
Thanks for your comments for what you think about deployment clasp. I was trying to verify the dealer's words. It did seem that his comments are true. The calatravas came with buckles and they are classics. The perpetual calendars came with deployment. And based on the pricing of these 2 series, it seems that the complicated pieces are fixed with deployment. Until the counter-examples came along.

There are also members who I saw wrote that they would replace buckles with deployments because of preferences.
Do AD sell deployment clips on demand ?

I personally like the calatrava cross that comes with these clips. It's symbolic from afar when you wear a Patek. Not many people can detect a Patek from a distance because the dial is hard to identify. But with the deployment and the calatrava cross at its end, it's hard to miss, if one bothers to look. And that really appeals to me. Swinging my preference over from buckle to deployment.

The use of the deployment requires alteration of the strap for the calatrava cross to sit nicely on the wrist. I have a small wrist so I had to do strap alteration.
