I shower with my 5712. Have no worries about this.
But admittedly have a problem with these 'maritime' watches that supposedly cannot hold out the water when you go deeper than the dishes in your kitchen. My AP RO 15300 included. 50 m WR only!

I initially bought the 5711 and had to sell it in order to buy the 5980. I have to admit that 5711 sits much better on the wrist but I do prefer the bolder presence of the 5980. Being my only bracelet watch, I prefer it to be a little sportier.

how a watch capable of 60 meters underwater cannot stand up to a shower. The depth ratings from all the Swiss watch companies do not mean what they say. Thus, a watch certified to 30 meters should never be submerged even though it can go down 30 meters. G...
