You all are very kind to offer me advice. I agree that 3 weeks is not enough. I will keep the watch and wear it consistently for the next 3 weeks. I studied my collection carefully trying to choose a piece wisely to fill out the collection. I think I succeeded with the 5170G. Time will tell.
5170G vs. 5159G

I'd hang on to the 5170 for just a bit. How about swapping your 5146 for the 5159? That way your collection would have a worldtimer, a chronograph and a calendar complication=) Good luck on your decision! J
That is a very good idea.
I really should give the 5170 more of a chance. Maybe I will warm up to it.

I think the 5170g is a beautiful watch and I would certainly give it a bit more time.

only in Platinum or rose gold at this time. We may see a G at Basel this year with a colored dial. We can only guess.
Replacing after three weeks
could be a disaster for you if you bought new. The watch you seek now is similar. The 5170 is a manual wind so you can use when you want. I would keep it. The demand for them may change as happened on the 5070s.

Historically speaking it is very rare for a Patek chronograph to have either Breguet numerals or a pulsations track. Usually there is a tachometer track. The white dial 5170G has both. The black dial which is also very appealing has neither a tachometer n...
