One point you make really rings true to me. My 3 other Patek purchases, 5054J, 5110J, 5146R, were nearly love at first sight. It took me no time at all to bond with these 3 watches. This kind of instant gratification is wonderful and addictive. This has not happened with the 5170G which is why I am raising all these questions in my mind. I am hopeful that I will grow into the watch and appreciate its subtle elegance over the next 6 months. I will keep it and see how it goes. Seeing the picture of it on my wrist is making me appreciate its beauty more.
I thank you and the other forum members for helping me think through this and arrive at a plausible explanation and good solution.

I agree with the other members that you might want to wait some more time until you make a decision on keeping or switching the time piece. On your question re the 5159, I think its style is more classic than contemporary, that is why you find not so much...

I thought this watch was a "fine" watch when I first saw it. The more I've seen it, the more I like it. I really like the Breguet numerals and the pulsations. It is very understated, but I also appreciate that. I favor rose gold, but can really appreciate...
