You are so right. I think this watch is the pinnacle for me -- I've bit smitten with the allure and history of the PCC since visiting the Patek Philippe Museum in 2003
I wasn't in a position to buy the 5970 the following year when it came out so 20 years later, it is especially sweet to fulfill this long-term desire.
Yes -- I've tried to diversify among so-called dress watches.
Although now that I wear athletic clothes, blue jeans and Hawaiian shirts most of the times "dress watch" is a huge misnomer.

Congratulations! The 5970R is the most beautiful of the 5970s.
I would choose the G or P for stealth, but they are not as gorgeous as the R which captures a perfect blend of vintage and modern in a single piece. Enjoy! Cheers, John
