. . . pertained to the decision to emphasize the treble, or, as audiophiles would say, the leading edge of the sound.  That would be technically consistent with the relative thinness of the movement and limited internal volume of the case.  In other words, it seems that decision was essentially making a virtue of necessity.  A nod towards the lower registers should, all other factors being equal, necessitate a larger internal cavity.  


Not that I have much experience with repeaters, but the sweetest in memory were a series of Patek pocket watches, all from a single private collection.
