Interesting dilemma...
I am a big fan of many the new Daytona offerings. These two no exceptions.
When I first saw the renditions of the ceramic bezel precious metal pieces of the oysterflex I got really excited. Perfect blend of elegance and sportiness and captures the spirit of the Daytona. Previous versions on a leather strap was a bit of a dichotomy to me. However after having had the chance to handle all varieties together at a Rolex release my opinion I have to say both iterations in steel come out ahead. Particularly if it is a daily or sporty piece for the collection. Even with the ceramic bezel the precious metal pieces are a bit too mature for my taste, even though I find the beautiful.
The steel black dial is really a watch for any, and really any occasion. Can never go wrong with this. But of course what fits best in ones collection is a combination of what is already in a collection and ones lifestyle. Best of luck! And congrats! Probably.

From my side, I've ordered 116500 with white dial since I like the contrast it gives. Maybe this is why I'd go for the 116519LN

I don't give a sh$$$ to the bla bla. What appeals me most is the coolness of that watch, which is extremely well made, too.
I am more into the white dialed version, which caught all my attention and interest. And as I said many times, I am not a Daytona guy. I really love my white 16520 and will not trade it for the 116500, but I would like to add a 116500 to my 16520. Best, N...
the "bla bla" that is on their website is quite amusing.....
....but is total "bla bla". The watch is cool....yes.....i have no modern Daytona....so interesting to consider.
But on the other hand you can't blame Rolex for trying to move some product...
Can you imagine if their marketing material only consisted of the third section? Sure everybody here will get it but the vast majority of Rolex customers need the first two sections to open their wallets. Think about all those Wall Street, Hollywood execu...

Devil’s advocate: Let’s say economics is not in play, then why not get both the SS and WG and wear each over a few weeks and let your thoughts settle down in favor of whichever it is??? I believe it is more difficult to find the SS so you’ve already beste...
Joe, the black dial SS version is the way to go, IMO.

How can one display 1/8th of a second with five marks between each second?
Unless I am wrong about the number of marks, which I do not think to be. That is a Training anoying (!) about this chrono and many, many others. However: I would love to own a whithe one ... or any of the ones on Oysterflex ... even the WG one on an Oyste...

Four markings is all the trick:
First mark shall be this: I the space inbetween to tge next mark: I is also a "mark" and the actual First mark, then comes the second mark: I which is actually the second mark to read (!), then the comming space is the third mark, and so on ... . Example:...
i understand your point and agree with you to an extent....however....
.....all i am saying is that technically they are not mis-stating anything. It would certainly make it easier to read the accurate reading if they were to follow your prescription....but your prescription wouldn't actually make the watch any more accurate...
Your choice: LN black dial
is better, more harmonious looking than the one without the ceramic bezel insert.
You would be an absolute, irrefutable, donkey's ass if you purchased the white one. Err, the black one. Err, the one on a strap. Clearly

116519LN would be the one to go for
the rubber strap and that grey dial in my opinion triumphs over the 116500LN with a black dial and bracelet. My personal preference however is the 116500 with the white dial which I fortunately now own but as my friend Kamal Rostov told me, the black dial...

You didn't have to wait for a long time
after placing the order. In my opinion all Daytona's looks great and which one of them you choose you cannot go wrong. There are many who prefers precious metal over the SS but naturally the SS is the original metal as to comes when the Daytona was launch...

It is made to Rolex exacting standards for sure, but in essence I have to say you do have some merit, I wonder how many people buy it because of it technical merits and
history, or simply buy it because it is "the" watch to have and because you can't buy the bloody thing- i.e. hype overdrive Its probably bought more by "A" list wannabee then watch collector. However the caveat here is that people on this forum will fall ...
