Inspired by the enthusiastic reports of our dear friend Baron with the latest rendition of Rolex classic GMT, I decided to give another try to my Ceramic Submariner green dial.(Ref 116610) I bought this watch a few years ago, one of the first to reach my ...  

... deserve some wrist scans too! Here they are: 1680 Red, and 16613TT. I find the color of this dial, the most amazing blue of any watch ever. I bought this watch brand new, when I learned it was discontinued and replaced by the new ceramic blue version,...

Why do you make these temptations. So much to love about this one and all the modern conveniences and a very nice dive companion. I just had my Omega 600 Ploprof certified for 200 meters which is good for a vintage but you always run risks. I am jealous. ... 

... and yes, I´ve been using my old 1977 1680 Sub for scuba diving till a few years ago, but I decided it is not necessary to risk it anymore. Glad to know about your Omega being certified, but I personally wouldn´t risk it if it were mine, though I under... 

All your Subs are beautiful but the Red 1680 is something else.

With the Vintage Submariner, in terms of feelings, at least. This green version is quite cool, though. But you need to get some tan before wearing it nicely. I never had the possibility to touch one... I will. Thanks for the article, my friend. Very inter...

Why did you go for this one, instead of the 16 610 LV, you know, the one with just the green bezel, which was unveiled to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Submariner? Un abrazo. Nicolas

... be looking for in a near future. This Ceramic model atracted me as a new and interesting turn of the nut in the Submariner development history. I was also captivated by its dial color. I guess that being rational minded, I should have gone first after... 

The production years are quite short, and even better for the collector if it has the flat 4 insert. Now I get your point, sometimes we don't do rational choices, when the heart speaks. Un abrazo a ti tambien. Nicolas

... to put in use again this little used watch. It has been seating in its box, inside a safe, for more than a year. Now It has been on my wrist since last Saturday and intend to keep it there. I would suggest you to try it too during a visit to your favo... 

Abel: Those green ceramic Subs are very lovely in person, esp the dial. I know what you mean about vintage being much easier to warm to, but I think it is best to not compare - the vintage will get jealous of the modern's dive-ability and the modern will ...

I, too, really like this one very much... The black one I feel in a way too similar to the vintage one... And this one with green ceramic bezel and green dial makes it much more interesting and unique to it's own... The green color is much nicer in metal ...  

You are right to note that the beautiful and changing green color of this dial is so hard to get in a photographs. Light plays tricky with the dial angle, and it keeps changing constantly. Like you, I opted for the green not only for its beauty, but also ... 

I went through exactly the same with you! The dial was fascinating as it changes from really dark green that's almost black to fresh green like in the picture... And I also got to wear it for almost 2 weeks straight... That was the longest I've ever worn ... 

Actually I love your green sub alot. It looks great in person and photos don't bring out the best of the green dial. The watch is beautiful but its color doesnt fit my wrist as I am very fair skinned. I think it looks pretty good on you! One thing I do fo...

Every time I try this on (and I can tell you there are a number of annoyed Rolex AD's in Mississippi) I really bond with this piece. Maybe because it is the UnSubmariner Submariner with its no excuses Rolex green on the dial and the bezel. Hope you enjoy ...

Thank you for sharing your impressions. I agree, I'm glad that Rolex didn't make it any bigger. In fact, I like the old lugs that were skinnier, as the new lugs make the watch look a little big and too tough; not to mention it looks like there's too much ... 

... agree with them. I feel that Rolex needed the "aggiornamiento" of this model, and I´m glad it made a good thing in not making the watch bigger, but making it "look" bigger by making lugs thickers, as well as thickening the crown guards. Overall the wa...
