Rolex

Yes, I understand

My disappointment isn't a strongly-held opinion, just my quick take after seeing the announcement. However, as a thought experiment, when I think through the development of this line of watchmaking and how it will progress I see it converging more in-line with consumer electronics. (Not ICs, but more like DLP chips, etc.)
I have always felt that collecting expensive watches requires a suspension of disbelief in order to justify spending the cash. Each collector has the different criteria that appeals to them that motivates them to suspend their disbelief in a watch being worth its asking price. For me, this movement has moved far enough down the line of high-precision mass-production methodologies that I am not able to suspend my disbelief. Maybe traditional industrialized production techniques, CNC or otherwise, is actually cheaper - but I don't have a clue so I am able to convince myself it is worth the money šŸ˜€.
