Since we arrived early to Santa Barbara, we had breakfast at Jeanninie's Bakery and Restaurant. The place is located just south of the amazing State & Fig on Figueroa Street. The coffee was good but the best things on the menu are the buttermilk panca...  

A fellow PuristS foodie who frequented Santa Barbara highly recommended a restaurant nearby the Canary called State & Fig. We started with a Fig Toast: Grilled crostoni, ricotta, fig jam, arugula, lemon EVOO Some champagne to start! Delicious! Clam Ch...

We really enjoyed our dining experience at State & Fig and was about to go there again but we decided on trying something else. They have a Hungry Cat and Bouchon out here in Santa Barbara so we passed on them. We walked by a restaurant called Chase B...  

It isn't a trip to Santa Barbara unless you have ice cream at McConnel's! They have a location on State Street but IMO the one on Mission is much better. Both places usually have long lines: There's a reason they have long lines, their ice cream is absolu...  

We spent one day in SB. had a termendous seafood meal at the wharf in a very ordinary shack at the end of the wharf. Small cramped but amazing sea food Can't for the life of me remember the name Julian

There's a few places around the pier that is really good. Did you go to the Santa Barbara Shellfish Company? My favorite near the pier is Brophy's. -MW ...  

I remember those Santa Barbara days back in my undergrad years. I went to school in Los Angeles (Orange County to be exact) and visited an old grade-school friend who went to school at Santa Barbara. Spend the afternoon on State Street, sampling food and ... 

If you go to Solvang check out the Hitching Post off the Highway 246 in Buellton (they are only open for dinner). -MW

Light traffic getting up here, weather was perfect, food was great especially at State& Fig. Couldn't ask for a better time! More pics of the surrounding area shortly... -MW

SB is a nice place for a weekend visit. One of the fun things I like to do is the Segway tours around town. It's about 2 hours and you ride along the State St, Cabrillo Blvd, UCSB, and various parks. Regards, ED-209 ps - the Bouchon in SB is not related t...
