Am I loosing my mind (...and my eye sight)...or did the seller actually shipped me an ultra rare ROSE gold 3448?
The vintage 3448 beauty arrived just a few hours ago. As I'm getting older my eyesight is not the best but my first reaction was that this was a rose gold and NOT a yellow gold watch, as it was advertised.
After I pulled out my other yellow and rose gold Patek watches (as well as a couple of rings), for comparison, Im even more convinced that it is rose gold.
I had couple of people to inspect all these watches pictured in the group in person and I also shared these images with a few other close friends that are collectors and everybody is telling me that it is Rose gold. What do you say?

It really doesn't seem possible, alas. Compare something like this to a 5320, and even the recent 8 days Calatrava and the design language seems...lost.
Aside from getting an Archive which I suspect will say if it is rose, you can Google “Patek __________ filling in the movement number and see if anything turns up.
Would love to see some higher resolution photos from different angles of the 3448.
it does seem to be rose indeed. But as others mentioned papers should clarify. In all cases congratulations to your new fantastic addition!
Just to clarify.....the watch did not come with archives.
Of course, everything is absolutely kosher. The seller is a VERY well known and established reseller of estate jewelry and watches (decades of history and feedback) I have seen detailed pictures of the beautiful caliber 27-460 Q, serial number of the caliber, both Geneva seals etc.
The watch did not come with Archives. No worries. I am planning on getting the paperwork from PP GENEVA.
I put the watch on the timing machine and to my great surprise it has a phenomenal amplitude and accuracy with a couple of seconds per day in multiple positions. That being said, considering how special this piece is and since there's no service history, I'm actually planning on flying it to Geneva personally and drop it off there for service and archive paperwork.

You could fly to NYC
and drop if off at the Henri Stern Agency because they will send it to Geneva without a doubt anyway. On the other hand flying to Geneva might be more fun.

Wow. Interesting to say the least.
May I suggest XRF testing. It is noninvasive, not too expensive, and you should be able to get someone near you to run the test. Would definitely tell you metal composition if yellow or rose gold. Good luck and please keep us posted ! - Sebastian

...... sorry but the moon phase is not set yet 😉
If it turns out to be rose gold, as the photos suggest it is,
you would be owning the second known example of ref. 3448 in rose gold.
As you have read, the Freccero recently sold as lot 74 at Phillips has been called "the only one known".
Anyway, Patek Philippe and an XFR test will give you all the necessary information.
Huge congratulations whatever the outcome as this is a model which surpasses almost any other in beauty, class and historical value.

I'm already ABSOLUTELY thrilled with the watch, whatever the metal it ends up to be.. If it's yellow gold, of course I'm perfectly all right with that. If it's Rose ...well, that would be something special for sure.
