Audemars Piguet

End of the Story (I hope)

Alright guys, here's the end of the story.

I managed to get through to customer service in Le Sentier. I speak French and I had a long talk with Mme Maréchal in customer service-she was shocked by what happened- She looked up my watch in their system and it wasn't there. GOSH!!! what's going on here?
She explained that it had probably been sent to Bagijn Service Centre in Amsterdam, where they handled most repairs and warranties for the Nordic Countries.
So all the time we (the AD) were saying that we'll send it to AP and I talked about Switzerland without being contradicted it was going to Amsterdam.
I managed to get hold of Bagijn on the phone and understood that they knew about the mistake and it had occurred in their packaging department. They were preparing it now and were ready to send it. I'm expecting to pick it up latest Friday by the AD.

So all in all AP have outsourced some of their warranty services and repairs, which is fine, but there must be a strong protocol out there to check and re-cjeck that the watch you are actually packing is the watch on the paperwork. Maybe also a reminder to all AD's to check that the watch they are giving out is the watch that they sent out to AP service.
I can understand from the AD that it had happened before.
Right now I'm just hoping that my watch was no sent to another customer and that he accidentally damaged it-all in all not very comforting. You have this illusion that when you have passed the 2 security doors to the AD and you give your watch for service that everything is safe and will be handed with precision and respect to the values that are being handled and sent.
No matter of how safe you think it is make sure you the detailed pictures of your watch before sending it to service. Someting could happen. Always remember Murphy
