I am with you in blaspheming Peter!
A couple of months ago I bought a Deepsea Sea Dweller and since it is a large watch I thought it was bound to get bashed about. The thing is I like watches when they are new and pristine and when they are old and well worn in, but I don’t like the in between stage where a few scuffs and scratches really stand out. As a result I ordered some of the stickers from one of the Singapore brands and put them on the watch.
Unlike plastic coverings on furniture, at arm’s length or further, you really can’t see the stickers on the watch. It’s only close up that the edges of the stickers are visible.
After a couple of months the stickers seem to be doing a good job. A couple of them are starting to come away at the corners but that could be my lack of care in applying them! Fortunately the supplier sent a spare set of stickers and so when the original set becomes unsightly on the watch I will try applying the spare set.
For me it’s been worthwhile because I have enjoyed wearing the watch a lot more than if it did not have the stickers. Conceptually it doesn’t seem any different to putting a screen protector on an iPhone. If it’s done well you don’t even notice it.
All the best.
