Corvette ZR1 …

It’s good to see the new Corvette ZR1 finally revealed in all its glory. The move from the traditional front engined Corvette design didn’t go down well with many Corvette enthusiasts but this car looks good and is clearly aimed at track day enthusiasts.

The choice of suspension components is a far more complex one than you have presented. The ZR1 being aimed at the track day market and no longer has the front trunk to make more room available for aerodynamics and the suspension, in a similar way to the Porsche GT3 RS.
The “regular” 992 doesn’t need to go down this route, keeping the very useful front trunk and using the MacPherson struts, providing an excellent balance between limited available space, handling performance and comfort.

Owning a great car is far more than outright power and track focused components.
