Automotive

Decades ago small performance oriented niche players like Maserati, Alfa, Lotus etc could keep plugging along but eventually that formula no longer provided

enough revenue to survive which is why Porsche started making SUVs and large performance sedans. I still believe that the larger companies could successfully make various types of cars if governments would get out of the way, stop the mandates. Without the government's mandates and incentives electric cars would not be as prevalent. Let them coexist and let the consumer have choice. If/when one becomes far superior people's wallets can and would make the choice. Large well run companies can successfully make a variety of products. Honda makes excellent lawn mowers, cars and even jets. Yamaha makes world class watercraft,
motorcycles, pianos, guitars and more. If you can be that diverse you can certainly make great cars with different forms of propulsion.
