I'm still hesitant to recommend EVs.

The Porsche Taycan drives amazingly.  Truly a Porsche from a driving perspective - lack of sound otherwise.  But, can I recommend one?  So much of car ownership is outside of just how it drives, but the reliability, the insurability, the competence in a specific region by the dealership, and the long-term reliability of the car as the car is past the 4 year mark (some people still keep their cars until they're old).  So I can't really recommend EVs without a lot of caveats.  The battery might last 10 years, but will other things fail that require a car to have the battery removed each time to access that small part that fails?  These EVs are still a bit of a science project for many car companies.  And outside of Tesla, there really isn't a lot of good "large population statistical data" about EV reliability with the new Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, VW, Toyota, etc. electrics on the market.  So I definitely wouldn't begrudge anyone from sticking to an internal combustion engine machine!  At least we know what problems exist on those!
