Alkiro's carnivore test 8 - chanterelle season in Austria 🇦🇹
I have been anything other than a prolific food poster lately (although consumption has been solid), so here a quick life sign before I manage to get back to my regular frequency.
In the interest of science, or Alkiro's curiosity the meat content will be strictly noted 😉
Austria is fortunately a traditional place in terms of still adhering to a seasonal food schedule. And it happens to be chanterelle season now.
So here we go - maybe a tad heavy for the temperatures outside but still tasty.
Starting with a chanterelle soup. Plenty of loose chanterelles in there, too! But no meat 😉

Followed by some more in the shape of a chanterelle goulash with bread dumplings - again meat free. And in spite of the colour also fully tomato free 👍🏻

All washed down with some fresh Welschriesling. Finally a sorbet variation for dessert. No chanterelles here - no meat either 😉
This seems to completely contradict Alkiro's carnivore hypothesis but more will come soon - including some Alsatian sauerkraut (especially for Alkiro 😉).
Bon appetit!
