Finally able to add a Patek 570G to my collection...
I have been sitting on the vintage Patek sidelines for a while, but recently decided to join the club. I have always been a big fan of the early Patek Calatrava watches, namely the ref. 570G. I was lucky enough to just add this one to my collection. It is from 1965 and has an engraved enamel dial. In my opinion, they large dauphine hands compliment the silver sunburst dial perfectly. It has been on my wrist all week and I know that it will not be my last vintage purchase.

For the 570 being such a “simple” watch there are certainly lots of variations in the dials, indices and hands over its long production run.
This made me curious about when Patek started to print “email” on their dials to indicate enamel.🤔
But I love the cleanliness and classic aesthetic of these vintage Calatravas. Great choice.
The entire dial is not enamel, just the signature...
The "Patek Philippe" and "Geneve" lettering are enamel, not the actual dial. This is contrast to later models that have the letters printed flat on the dial. The letters on this dial are raised and gives the whole dial a sort of 3-D effect.

I am looking for another “simple” watch to compliment my 570. Something with either a different case shape or dial color. I have my eye on one specific piece and will definitely share it here if it comes to fruition.

It's almost Bauhaus in some ways!
The Nomos is more Bauhaus. But this one has that Bauhaus minimalism.
