The 993 was cobbled together and not a great seller. They skimped out on a lot of parts.... from door switches to the terrible Monroe shocks. Porsche made a Hail Mary pass with the boxster at that time and it made out.
The only similarity to a 993 and a 5970 is that they were the last of something, air cooled and Lemania movement.
