We are all reacting differently but it will be good to let the dust fall down a little.
I think the new references have been very nicely updated: while the 5327 remains very elegant and classical, the 5230 for instance is still beautiful but more modern and not in the line of the 5140/5127 case shape.
To me they added some different lines to the case without touching the refined spirit we feel from the pieces.
The 5930 is maybe the exception with a sportier look.
About the 5170, I'll say that my favorite dial is yours as I like the scales on a chronograph dial adn that the dial decorations were perfect to me.
The 5170G black dial is agreat very different version, more casual but less to my taste as no more scale mainly. This being said, I must say the R versions without scales look very good! So I'm not sure about my "always with scales" criteria. To be seen in the metal to check.

The variety PP offers is great as people have different tastes. And offering many variations will likely produce some gems, like 5370 last year. I have absolutely nothing against this approach, as it is bound to produce a few 'keepers'.
umh after last year breakthrough with the pilot I expected at least a fancy Nautilus but..

The live photos of the 5930 are now starting to show up,
and I am very impressed. The blue is not nearly as vibrant as the official photos show, but much more subdued. The case appears quite thick though. Looking forward to your in depth thoughts on this one in due course.

Overall a good year for novelties IMO.
The 5374 is just spectacular. The only criticisms are that 1) this 3rd iteration of the world timer still falls short of the beauty and elegance of the original 5110. Maybe if they of a platinum version I'll sing a different tune. And, 2) the WT + Chrono ...

If movements would be perfect,
there would be no need to develop new ones. Unfortunately i.e. 240Q is a bit small for a 39 mm case - 3 mm bigger than the original case (which was perfect). Best, Kari

5170 is the big disappointment
I really wanted something special for this reference. The dial is just too dull for me. I had suggested a whole new reference for the movement.
Well, I see from forum's feedback these last years
that there are people loving this 5170 really much. Much less impressive than a 5070 but so true to the original references (130, 530...) and very classical and timeless (you can find here the thread where I talk about this reference considering the brand...
