Patek Philippe

You're perfectly right about the movements

sometimes we don't appreciate at its right value what we already have and, as you underline, making new movements is not a simple thing to do either. I guess as watch enthusiasts we always want more, that's natural smile

The 5235G is an interesting topic, every year people say it is meant not to last in the catalogue but it remains. I think there is no definitive deadline but it will be decided, as for every references, when time is right.

It is good that it remains accessible and not a "unicorn".

For the 5960/1A, well I think I agree with you and thought it could be the last "goodbye" reference for the end of the 5960 line.

As for the "safe" feeling, well, I think that it depends on the watches:

- there are evolutions, they are safer but I think very well done so finally a better move than doing "too much", it is good for a bit of stability in the overall picture (5170R or 5396 and even the 5140P looks great that way);

- and there are safe moves (or is it just because it is classical and refined, thus less "impressive"?) like the 5327 QP;

- and the quite daring 5930 and beautiful (to me) 5230 which is quite a very different model from the previous generations (the 5130 was much closer to the 5110 than the 5230 is to the 5130 imho).

And let's not forget the 5374 or 6300 that we forget!

A nice mix but I totally see you point. I think this is a true Patek line of conduct.

Thank you very much for sharing these first steps Poky.

Cheers, Mark
