Hello, I am a Journe enthousiast from London. I have been reading and not participating much so far. I have been facinated by resonance trying to understand it further. I enjoyed this talk FPJ gave at the NYHS a few years ago being able to speak a little...

Just that watches with two separate balances, resonance or not, still average the beat rate through some sort of mechanical differential. Even the FPJ resonance when the balances aren't in resonance the watch is still taking the the outputs of each and av... 

The escapements are not connected in the joure (as they are in other examples you mentioned). The journe has two separate second hands with nothing but the vibrations of the main plate connecting them. There is no "averaging" happening with the journe. Se...

I have often thought it interesting that this is never cited as a resonance watch, I think because they are on the same balance staff/ axis so is enhancing the mass of the oscillator to improve accuracy as less easily disturbed and going in opposing direc...
