The quartz clock was invented in America by Warren Marrison in 1927 but your rejection of all things quartz is not about it’s origins of invention but the technology itself.
The “Quartz Crisis” in the 1970s was not about quartz itself, but the lack of vertically integrated manufacturing in Switzerland.
It was the quartz Swatch that saved the Swiss watch history in the 1980s.
My personal take is that technology should be embraced … both mechanical as well as electronic. For example, in the use of CAD/CAM computer technology when it comes to complex design over paper and pencil.
I still love mechanical …automatic, manual 🥰 … but I still have space to embrace quartz as I don’t see them as mutually exclusive.
They all involve extreme examples of innovation, precision and the display man’s creative expertise.
