I don’t service my mechanical watches unless I notice a problem in accuracy or smoke is coking out of the case. 😄
For my battery change, I’ll probably do it myself in the future but for the first time, I asked my watch guy to do it. Euro 25/- including Renata battery. 
I pretty much like my quartz as much as my other mechanical watches. Quartz doesn’t bother me at all. It’s more about the type of quartz and associated heritage , provenance and rarity.

I looked around to find something comparable. The FPJ Elegante display caseback is nice but I think the GP 80188 is nicer. I especially like that the copper coil is hidden on the GP. There are these hidden gems with GP ... for those who know. �8...
