What does this add up to? Brands which are easy to recommend to newcomers because of their consistency across the board. You don't have to make sure the newcomer doesn't mind Omega's case thicknesses, tell them to avoid Vacheron's non Geneva seal lines, or to avoid buying an ETA UN. It's much easier to recommend "any Rolex and any Patek - just pick the one that looks good to you". This makes these brands immediately accessible to any sudden surges in demand, which is what generated demand-led scarcity in the past decade by funneling all the beneficiaries of the federal reserve's largess to these two brands. After a certain point, the hype and scarcity generates itself.
Marc- Agree 100 %. Majoroty of buyers want easy and safe. GP is the opposite. The hype and sacracity does not generate itself. It perpetuates itself. The grey dealers have huge innventory of stock of rolex. Who do you think pays "influencers" to talk the various models up?

I would have to check exactly when. But the dealer I work with, I have a 20 year relationship. Maybe they don't discount for everyone, but I get everything at discount, except boutique purchases.

My problem is that I love most of their models. So once I own one, it’s almost impossible to let it go. I did recently sell my Starbucks, but only because I thought its size was just a little bit too big. 40 mm is really my limit.
