I’ve spoken with GP management on this before. I believe that unless the past iconic pieces like the laureato 8010 and 8017 and 81000 are shown the respect they deserve, it will be tough for collectors to respect the current production pieces. It’s all re...

The back is as impressive to me as the front. But I’m curious about the battery. Have you had to have it changed, and does GP still have these exact same batteries available in stock? I don’t know how long it lasts, but what do you do when battery needs c...

Japanese battery brands work (much cheaper) as well but sometimes the Swiss houses get upset. ☺️

I’m weighing between 81000 vs 8010, white dial. However, I also recently noticed the Vintage 1945 line of intriguing rectangular cases. I don’t recall if you ever discussed those here…what are your thoughts on those LE pieces?

Close enough to my 18 cm wrist. So you can use my pictures as a guide. The laureato 81000 will be good. 41 mm. Dial size is 31 mm The laureato 8010 is 36 cm. It will wear fine as long as you realize that frok the top view, it will show more bracelet as op... 

I would not have believed you if I’d not had the chance to put it on my wrist myself. And as you state, an important nod to the history of GP. In the 70’s what kind of watches were this movement housed in? And I assume far more non GP watches with this mo... 

The calibre 13500 was created specifically for the ref 80188. In the 70’s we would be talking about calibre 350/352. I know JLC used quartz movements from GP as well as several other brands. Which calibres I’m not so sure. I’ll ask a friend who is a quart... 

First generation were the cal. 3xx such as the 310 and 350 Second generation were the cal. 7xx, one of which powered the ref 4266. Reliable enough for some to have survived to the present day. This 7xx generation culminated in the 1985 perpetual calendar ... 

AP seems to have switched to the cal. 2713. Not sure the supplier, but it is not a rebranded GP 13100. The shaping of the 2713 bridges looks Cartier
