As a fan of automatons and having studied the history of automatons, I know that there are turtle/tortoise "tortue" automatons that date far back both of these. The example by Asprey is a fairly recent but beautiful example as I've personally seen some tortue automatons that are around an estimated 200 years of age.
I applaud MB&F's response on social media of de-mystifying the tortoise automaton's origins and for providing FACTS that neither were the originator of the automaton tortue.
I also applaud Raul Pages' response on social media. An incredibly humble response with integrity and fairness to all.
MB&F is truly a horological laboratory helmed by a team of young-at-heart genius artists who constantly create objects they like themselves with little thought as to how it will be perceived by the market. Their latest creation is no exception; they've done it again with the most recent automaton tortue. And I really look forward to seeing it in person!

I really don't see the issue and MB&F are correct, the tortoise or any animal automata belong to
