Again, events don't all need to be fancy. I have seen brands organize informal events at local bars. 6 pm to 8 pm. Drinks discounted by the bar. Win-win.
The main point is the AD/Brands/Collectors want to have face time with each other. This is what communities are about and if all are sincere, the events will be a success. Today's one time buyer is tomorrow's mega buyer. I have seen this numerous times. My own buddy who is a 60 year-old ends up buying 20 watches over a 5 year period after retirement. He had never bought a watch before in his life and discovered watches after selling his company.
Long term and Inclusive. These are the adjectives that resonate for me. I meet my clients for lunch or have a phone call all the time. I don't only meet them to get more business. We become genuine friends. And whenever they needs IT services or Accounting services, I am at the top of their minds. They also refer me to their contacts all the time. Means to an end.
Brands and ADs need to start things this way and plating seeds that will grow.
