Horological Meandering

Thanks for sharing Emmanuel.

A few observations or thoughts.

First, we have something very important in common.  Our mothers were the ones that facilitated the interest in watches.  I don’t think that is a common theme.  Although as fate would have it on my side, my mother-in-law is perhaps an even more significant facilitator.

Second, it’s always interesting to understand how big jumps in one’s collecting occur.  You were essentially dormant for 20 years.  And probably really happy with what was on your wrist.   Then a very modest step into the Tudor and then a seemingly unpredictable next step into the CdV VC.  What triggered the Tudor purchase?  And how did you make that jump from the Tudor to the VC?

And related, did the Quattro Spirit 25 come very quickly after the CdV VC?  I feel for myself, and based on what I’ve seen repeatedly with others, one material addition can often loosen things up a bit and like floodgates being opened there can often be a rush of new watches that previously we would never have had allowed ourselves to own.

Third, the Tudor and the Eagle serve as nice bookends because of their sizes and because of how different they are to each other.  Straps are clearly your every day preference.

Fourth. It looks like the Emerich Meerson straps have lived a life.  Do the first two go back to your earlier years, to when your mother worn them.  That would be something.

Forgive me if these are too many questions.  Feel free to answer any or none !

Oh, and lastly.  Coincidentally I just had my first hands on experience with a titanium version of your GS.  I have to say it was very very nice.
