Which is the better chrono: Breguet or Rolex

There is no simple answer to this question.  It really depends on what is important to you, what your values and desires are.  They are both excellent chronos, with many fine features.  The following are my opinions, but not "facts", and are offered as a way to differentiate the 2 watches, and give you some things to think about.

Movement: 
Rolex has column wheel, Breguet is a cam.  A column wheel calibre has advantages, including less (no?) jumping on starting the chrono.
Breguet has a flyback mechanism - which is a lot of fun to play with although not necessarily really useful.
Rolex has a subdials for chrono minutes;  Breguet has a centralized minutes counter.  If you have aging eyes, Breguet is easier to read.
Rolex in general is not always so readable (my experience, others may say different). 
Rolex has no date;  Breguet has a very nicely done date. 

Fit and finish:
Both are nicely done, but the Breguet wins out for the detail of the work done on the dial. 
Rolex has screw down pushers (which bothers some), Breguet does not.  Both have sufficient WR for casual swimming.
Breguet bracelet does not have microadjustments, and half-links are not available.  Not sure about Rolex.
Mounting the Breguet bracelet is very difficult;  mounting the bracelet on a Rolex Daydate I had was quite easy. This is only important if you like to change bracelets, straps, etc.  The Breguet also looks very nice on the OEM strap.

Recognition by others:
Rolex is much more widely known than Breguet.  If general status recognition is important, Rolex wins.
Rolex is a safe choice - you can easily resell or trade it.  Breguet might take a little more work to resell or trade.

Which one is BEST:
The one that makes you smile the most, and that you think will keep you smiling the longest.

My choice is the Breguet Type XXI.  Nothing against the Rolex, it just doesn't appeal to me.  The other day I was at a meeting that was really boring and long - the only thing that kept me awake was looking down at my Breguet and admiring it!
