Your Watch Quota? If any?
Hi
I'm not sure anyone of you are like me, trying hard but in vain to maintain the number of pieces in our collection (meaning also wearing them). My reason is simple as I like to wear my pieces as often as I can so I get to spend max quality wrist time with them, without feeling guilty of leaving one collecting dust.
So I have always tried to maintain a 3-watch policy. Obviously that hasn't worked well for me as I've still in my collection, 5 watches. A patek, lange, journe and a couple speedies.
I admit I'm not rich enough to keep on buying watches which I fancy (darn, you know the curse, you like every piece you come across!). So I tried to impose this 3-watch policy by offload some before I get another.
So what's your quota? How do you discipline yourself? it's an open discussion.

There is a quota, and then there are the "extras."
I would probably do best with about ten watches. However, I have many more. My tastes seem to change, so even when I have a watch that does not get much wear I tend to hold on to it in case I once again get interested in wearing it.
Well, my self-serving rationale
is to have 3 good pieces to hand down to each of my children. Its a noble reason for me to divert my resources.
A golden rule
All the watches which add something to my collection. Another golden rule: My Banker. So, 1 and 2 are my watch quota. Best, Nicolas

As a collector of (primarily) vintage watches...

as long as they fit into my current theme(s) then there is no limit. i've been as high as about 300 and as low as 12. i'm currently on 45 with 1 going out and 3 coming in shortly so that will make 47 before i start looking or saving for my next one. i mus...
