I think most of this is actually known...

...I think the first three letters of the movements actually start with the initials of the founders of their third party movement manufacturer.

Devil’s advocate might state that Ferrier is a great marketing exercise propagated by HODINKEE and the likes. In reality, yes, he has extremely nice finishing. Yes, their production is limited vs most other industrial players. Yes, their micro rotor movement design is unusual and visually appealing. But what about the rest?

There is a bunch of CAD/CAM/industrial pre-production behind it, which puts them at the same starting point as most of the bigger brands like ALS and PP. I am also unclear on ownership stability of the brand given the CEO change a while back and comments I read around future direction of the brand. How much equity does the namesake still hold? I suspect someone wants to make a lot of money out of this beyond the marketing spiel of horological romanticism and Le Mans racing glory that surrounds Monsieur Ferrier.

I fear this might go the direction of Franck Mueller or Roger Dubois. Proliferation of so-called limited editions, future ownership and legacy disputes, and ultimately tarnishing of the brand. I hope not. I sincerely wish them well. I actually like their products on a standalone basis. Design wise I find them similar to Moser, though that brand is much more transparent around in vs outsourcing and how they do things.

Data points and factual indicators that make you wonder about Ferrier: low aftermarket pricing, surfacing of pieces in the grey market, watches staying “on the shelf” for quite a long time with online and offline dealers.
I am not a watch industry insider, horological expert or affiliated with any watch brand or watch industry supplier - but I am a seasoned businessman and all of this gives me a bad gut feeling.

What do you guys think?
