Do I still see this as a cash-grab? Of course...Watchbox sees 'blood in the water' and they're attacking, but a business has a right to do that within the law. I don't like market manipulation in any form, and there is a lot of it going on right now with multiple watch brands/types. However, and reading your post, I do think that WB can bring DB some much needed business acumen and increased exposure, which will enable them to focus on their core competency: making beautiful and incredible watches. Will that mean WB will become a market-maker of DB, much to the chagrin of collectors? Of course, but what extent remains to be seen.
I will say that an infusion of business acumen and cash will enable DB to remain a going concern, and allow for current and future owners to have more confidence that the brand can stand behind them with routine service and any movement issues, for some time to come.
