Tech question, sort of…
In my case, after so many watches the whole thing becomes cloying. How many watches can you wear, after all. Of course, this doesn’t refer to those who actually collect: Rolex GMTs, for instance.
Anyhow, I think it was yesterday that I had the chance to see and touch an IWC Ingenieur. I always liked the “idea” and looks of that particular watch but had never been able to try it on. Well, it was love at first sight. Simple, subdue, easy to read, 100m water resistance and 75hrs power reserve. And an all titanium option to boot. So I’ve become tempted.
However, the movement seems to be all too simple: no special material for the balance spring, no parameters of precision… Except for the power reserve it seems like a basic ETA movement (not that there is anything wrong with an ETA movement.
So my question is: would the movement in that IWC be anything comparable to an Omega or Rolex movement? Thank you kindly for your response.
