After the Grande Reverso, the Grande Reverso Duo Date finally landed.
Bigger than its sister ( 52 x 31 mm, versus 48, 5 x 30 mm ), it offers another dial on the verso size, while the Grande Reverso shows its 3/4 plate movement.
A White dial for the main hour, a Black dial for the another timezone hour and a day night indicator, this may be a nice tool for the elegant traveller.
The funny thing is that when you play the rectangular shape on the dial of the main time, you have circles for the second time zone black dial.
And a different finish, too: Guillochages for the white, guillochage / grainé and smooth for the black dial.

I'm not a big fan of the semi circular date, just above 12 on the white dial, as it breaks a bit the rectangular harmony of the recto side, but for those who pay a lot of attention to the date, it has the merit to exist.
As you will notice after having viewed the Grande Reverso 976 ( the simpler one ), the proportions are more important than the numbers show, more " square " than rectangular on the Duo Date...
A kind of midway, between the Reverso and the Squadra.

I kept the best for the end...The Black dial, which is really gorgeous with its different finishes, alternating the smooth and the grainé, the guillochés, too, in a splendid way...
So, to sum my impressions on this watch, I admire a lot the black verso dial, less the white dial ( if only we didn't have this big window to display the date ...) and I prefer the dimensions of the Grande Reverso 976, more rectangular than on the 986.
But to each his own, and the Date, and the friendly complication of another timezone are very interesting.
What do you think?
Best,
Nicolas
