I'm careful with perezcope, as good information is mixed with tabloid "shocking revelations" that are anything but...
...such as:
"Keep in mind, the average production cost for non-precious metal Panerai watches, including material and movement, is around USD 350. That is right, three five zero!"
Anyone who knows anything about the luxury watch market understands this statement applies to every brand. Because R&D, which Panerai would need to contribute toward, is not counted in the cost of production/materials (ValFleurier doesn't research and create movements for free). I can't count how many times I've read the same cheap-shot argument used against Rolex just as one example - the number with Rolex was $650.
In a world where time-only pilot watches in are selling for $40K, the same argument can be made against any luxury watch brand.
If one is looking for a 'value buy,' luxury watches is not the place to find it. One will be perennially disappointed. Seiko and Casio is where it's at, and that's just fine.
I don't know about perezscope's motivations, but mixing good information with these grumbling tabloid 'revelations' doesn't impress me.
