4946R - politely declined
Today I got offered the 4946R which I politely declined. Whilst it wears fantastic for my small wrist (15.5-16cm) it was a bit too feminine for my taste. Don’t get me wrong, the watch is stunning but it didn’t generate any feelings when wearing it. You know the feeling I am referring to when you wear or see a watch 😃
My main issue is that the subdials feel too cramped into the dial and I think in this specific case the breguet numerals make it more feminine.
The quality of the picture isn’t so good as the SA took it with her phone and I think she forgot to send the HD version on her whatsapp 😃

As Pateks go, this one is supremely underwhelming. I just haven't gotten on with either this one or the prior introduction, the 4947A. It just...for lack of a better term, looks cheap? There's something about it: font for the numerals is off, the dial tex...

My interpretation of this reference is that it’s trying too hard. Although its elements are beautiful and well finished, together I don’t thing it works. But what do I know - for all intents and purposes it may become a classic.
Having tried on the steel bracelet variant,
I know that it wears very nicely on my small wrist. And I like the colors of this version. But other watches feel more important to me than this one. Thanks for sharing your impressions. Best, Emmanuel

Shangtong weaving pattern. When in doubt, pass is the appropriate decision.
