As Pateks go, this one is supremely underwhelming. I just haven't gotten on with either this one or the prior introduction, the 4947A. It just...for lack of a better term, looks cheap? There's something about it: font for the numerals is off, the dial texture is weird, the hands far too short, date wheel font inconsistent with marker font, date wheel not colour matched, and stars on the lower half of the moonphase are too asymmetrical. Not a great output of theirs. The 5146, however, is one of my favourite ever Pateks...

I agree with you.
My interpretation of this reference is that it’s trying too hard. Although its elements are beautiful and well finished, together I don’t thing it works. But what do I know - for all intents and purposes it may become a classic.
Having tried on the steel bracelet variant,
I know that it wears very nicely on my small wrist. And I like the colors of this version. But other watches feel more important to me than this one. Thanks for sharing your impressions. Best, Emmanuel
