I feel the first Patek will always be a well thought one. Much research before the jump. I had a close encounter with a 5134g, but just wasn't ready to buy for some reason. I think its practical. Kinda sporty and dressy...and still sexy from the crown guards which I love. In the end, I chose the 5098r, but this piece is a clever buy for the complication and the display caseback.

Then, congrats on your first Patek, too. I am not sure the 5134 is under appreciated, though. It has its charm and interest, it cannot compete with the 5110 which is a totally different watch. It has a friendly complication, a nice manual winding movement...

For me, as much as I like the PP5134 travel time, I prefer it to be automatic, for practical reasons.

I like automatics and manuals at different times. Having manuals as part of the collection adds a bit of nostalgia.

Definitely a lot of research went into it.
I love the look of the Breguet numerals. The distinction between the two hour hands was too subtle for my subpar eyes. The 5098r is a great choice!
