Dear Mostel,
When it was released on their homepage I was not euphoric either. I love the other well known predecessors of 5970P, too. So I decided to have a look in Basel. The black dial on 3970 also isn't my first choice (only 5004 black dial with baguette...great watch!).
Then I saw it in Basel and was hypnotized. Believe me, it is gorgeous BECAUSE! of its black dial and the very special colour of PT. The 40 mm case makes it totally different in its appearance and a photo is not able to show. This is my personal grail watch and perhaps the most expensive watch I'll ever buy, but I want this dream come true!

I can't give you my opinion because I have not seen one ......
But put it this way, if I had the opportunity to buy one. I would grab it with both hands.

Take a good look: The numbers are slightly bigger and of course because of that the whole circle is bigger. This information was given to me by my AD, otherwise I might not have noticed
