Patek Philippe

JapoJapo....

......your question is absolutely right to raise. A forum such as this is exactly where to discuss this.

For the record, I agree almost 100% with the comments that you have made. I am not entirely sure why so many vintage Patek have been ignored by those who buy the moderns. In many cases, these vintage pieces offer outstanding examples. Yes, it is true that the average size is smaller. Recently I have bought one or two Calatravas in the 35-36mm range. With the nature of the case, these watches look bigger on the wrist so to my taste are almost perfect size....FOR ME. And that is the crucial point. It is about personal taste and personal passion for a pursuit. I have heard both Patek and Rolex manufacturers state that they are seeing more demand now for smaller watches. I think this was inevitable given how large watches became......it became so absurd that it effectively killed itself!! IMHO!

Don't get me wrong, as much as i understand why a 36mm watch is perfect for some people, I also understand why a 44mm watch is perfect for another type of person. Each to their own....that is how it should be. However, each has every right to their own opinion. You have stated yours well. I happen to agree with you.

While we are there.....do you have any scans of vintage pieces you own or have owned.....always good to see!

Best
