Modern vs Vintage
We must remember that Patek as a company, has remained relevant through many years and has found a way to honor its heritage with always keeping an eye to the future - changing sizes along the way.
What we consider Modern is tomorrow's Vintage.
May we be lucky enough that through intelligence and innovation, Patek remains viable, willing and capable of providing enough relevant products to attract all kinds of users for many years to come. I always look forward to new releases and one thing is for sure....it would be nice to add to the collection.
As I read more and more about watches of all types, I find myself interested in pieces that only a few short years ago I would have passed over. In a few more years, my horizons will most certainly be slightly different again.
I applaud Patek for changing with the times and staying true to tradition. We may never know why new owners buy mostly modern pieces as some people buy things because they like them and others buy things for the reaction they receive.
Whether the new buyer knows it or not, one fact is that whoever owns a Patek is lucky. Whoever appreciates what they have is luckier (regardless of the size)!

Bruno...i disagree with your answer to some extent...
....its simply wrong to state that a certain size watch is "the perfect size". It may be the perfect size for you, but that will differ from one person to the next. The perfect size watch for me is probably 37-38mm...and depending on the style of the case...

I prefer vintage over modern although I have both. The amazing craftsmanship in such a small package is more important to me than the size which is purely decorative. I think small movements sitting in a larger case look ridiculous especially with sapphir...
