I disagree with some views that size is a major consideration. Something that is proportionate and highly functional will win many arguments over size as an independent and absolute criteria.
As for who collects what. I know only a few collectors. There are more collectors out there that I don't know, than I know. Perhaps a ratio of 1000/1. I have no idea how many collectors are out there, and where they live. So I will not base my assumptions on the collecting styles of Europeans, Middle Easterners, Australians, or Scots. There are far too many variables from artistic education, mechanical training, upbringing, culture and personal preference to ascribe anything such convenient and universal subsets.
How many collectors do people really know? And how many collectors do you think are out there?
