I removed the bracelet on my new 5270/1R today to explore options for putting a strap with Deployant clasp on to have a good amount of versatility. The bracelet fully removes using standard spring bars and on the lugs there are standard spring bar holes a...  

...if you are going to go to the expense in the first place (and considering the cost of the watch itself), I wonder if you could get a custom strap with a small 'lip' that would be on the top, hug the curves of the case, and hide the 'knobs.'? Just a tho...

I believed that the extension rods stay with the bracelet... Personally I would give up on the strap conversion, and put it back on the bracelet. Thanks for this awesome tutorial post! And the watch is off course gorgeous...

however, it sounds like you may need to commission a custom adapter, that will be able to attach a rubber strap to it, like the nautilus.

My friend, you are a brave pioneer. No way would my clumsy hands be able to perform such a surgery on my gold Patek. Cheers to you, looking forward to this project.

Anyone who changes straps, even on a strap only Patek, I highly recommend a Bergeon tool for the job.

... on Patek's side in order to prevent lateral motion and lug wear. I do not see it an easy task to maintain such structural integrity with a strap. Perhaps you could leave the first link and use a custom made strap from there. I did do it on my AP RO; e...
