Yes, it is a shame that they had to engrave PPP on it...totally unnecessary. However, the blue on teh enamel is breathtaking, and i can forgive it the engraving! I do wonder how many of the original owners choose to flip. My guest did not buy his through ... 

And that I would love to! Mainly to judge the impact of the engraved bezel on the appeal of the whole watch. Totally agree with you, Mr Baron: Some great watches are born with some flaws. Isn't this called " Charm " ? Best, Nicolas

I completely concur with Nicolas' statements above. I am a big fan of enameling (grand feu, cell enamel, and enamel paintings) so I will almost like anything with enamel work on it. Not a big fan of the engraving on the bezel. But I can live with it. But ... 

I heard soo many conflicting stories and rumors. To me this world time reference is a work of art with each dial being unique. I cannot help but wonder how many collectors have acquired this masterpiece directly from their AD at list without paying a king... 

The thing is, if this watch was available to me at list price I would still not buy it. That sounds weird after i have already stated that teh watch is breathtaking on the wrist and one of the most beautiful. But is it not possible to admire something wit...

...from 5960 and 5980. IMHO, the latter are meant to be "mass" produced. 5131 is not and can't be. Its enamel dial is very difficult to make. Although we see more 5131s showing up now, I doubt in the end there will be many in total. So I want to congratul... 

your thoughts on the 5130 WT? I particularly like the hands on this model and te guilloche work in the middle is quite nice. I'm quite tempted by the 5130R or possibly the 5130P.

5131 G still is my dream watch.Did You realize a strange thing: Although PP checks everyone who tries to get one and hardly any pieces are around,there are already 5 offered by grey market dealers,4 x5131J and one 5131 G,at astronomic prices. A Syrian gre... 

I recall you or a relative (friend) were to receive the 5131. What ever happened?

and even respectable collectors can become temporary flippers when they see a watch they paid £35k for get bid at £100k for.

acquires a 5131 is a fool in my book to ever sell it. To purchase a 5131 at list happens rarely enough in a lifetime. To ever acquire a second one defies reality.

as i neither bought one from an AD or even tried....and i most certainly didn't look at one in the 2nd market. However, given that so often one has to buy watches from PP without getting a good chance to really try it out on the wrist, is it not possible ...

About two years ago, i bought my patek 3969PT jump hour, if i am correct to quote, only 50 pcs made in PT, 450 pcs made in RG. All in all, it took me 19 years for the wait before i have the chance to buy this watch. I remember when they first came out, it...

5131G went for 244'000.00 US!!! Unbelievable... They write in their catalogue that it is discontinued, still on their homepage and delivering a few last pieces. Does anybody of you confirm this rumor?

2012... which means the flipper just bought recently (late 2012 or early 2013) and sold after a few months for >3X the retail price Patek will definitely track down the flipper and AD and blacklist the flipper and may give a slap on the wrist for the A... 

.... wrong statement, its obviously not discontinued. Another proof is Kari receiving his in a few days. price is really exaggerated, something weird as they are a few on 2nd market trading around 130k usd.

I had a chat recently with SA at PP Salons in Geneve and they admitted that they sold some items for flippers in th past and now they are monitoring each item. My biggest consern is that they will stop production some day. P.S. i hope i am number 5 in the...
