Patek Philippe

there is no disrespect to me...

as i neither bought one from an AD or even tried....and i most certainly didn't look at one in the 2nd market.

However, given that so often one has to buy watches from PP without getting a good chance to really try it out on the wrist, is it not possible to love a watch in a picture but find it uninspiring on the wrist? If that happened, then do you keep the watch? Are you a fool if you do not keep it?

I also think that you have such strong feelings about the 5131 because it is a watch you clearly love. That is understandable...but is it right to apply that love for the 5131 and apply it across all Patek owners and state that any "real Patek collector" is a fool if they buy a 5131 and then sell it. I do not actually agree with you. I think it is perfectly possible to buy a Patek like the 5131 and realise afterwards that it is a "mistake". Not all tastes are the same, and i certainly make mistakes on buying watches. What i think is true is that anyone who flips a watch for profit even if they truly love the watch...then yes, on that i can agree with you...then that is not a purist collector. It doesnt make them a fool though.
