Patek Philippe

Patek Philippe is definitely capable of a lot!

Breguet re-created Marie Antoinette's watch. Think of the man hours and the costs associated to only make one of those and it isn't even for sale. So anything with a lot of drive and passion can be done.
Patek Philippe also has a more profit-oriented edge. The Caliber 89 pocket watch was a program that was intended to make money. The Star Caliber pocket watch is another very special pocket watch. These really show off the brand's capabilities. Although I wonder how reliable they are in reality.
Patek Philippe also created the 6300 and probably produces the most amount of minute repeaters amongst any brand in the world. The whole Swiss Watch industry produces probably around 200 minute repeaters a year, and I'd say Patek Philippe produces a huge percentage there. If you look at some other companies minute repeater departments, they're actually not making a lot of money because the movement R&D costs were so high that they can't easily amortize their R&D costs back only over a few units sold a year.
Because of Patek Philippe enjoys a healthy demand, it is willing to invest in the R&D to make these amazing pieces and take on that risk. Because it knows it can sell them in large quantities. Even the 6300 is sold in relatively large quantities (for a million dollar watch) because consumers are willing to spend for special Patek Philippes.
