Patek Philippe

Re:

Thanks for the comment Fricks, I appreciate it, and it is a pleasure to be able to discuss whith you in detail of your experience as it gives me food for thoughts before a next visit at Patek.

Indeed for the WG composition, it is always hard or impossible to obtain from a brand. But you emphasize the fact I'll have to have a closer look at it under the natural light (and not over-illuminated by the AD's spotlights).

As for the 5170's dial, it is indeed not as grainy as a Lange silver dial in rose gold watch or on a handwerskunst version which is, if I'm not wrong, engraved with special tools and not sand-blasted.

What I have in mind is that it didn't seem to me it was plane but lightly sandblasted (you make me have a doubt, I'll check for that too :p ).

The 5726 has indeed a quite different white dial with a "nacre" treatment (iridescent look).

It's something you can see a bit of this picture (sorry I don't remember who to credit for this picture anymore), it is not completly uniform:

Anyway, a visit to my AD is mandatory I think smile

Cheers, Mark
