Personally, I would get the RM010 in titanium.  At that price range, it is the closest to the RM philosophy as you get.  Lightness, but attention to detail and construction.  That said, the man himself seems to favour the red gold case (which is just about the same price) and which has a unique finish for the RM watch.

There are RM005's on the secondary market, however, there have been small and subtle changes in the movement over time that have led to improvements in its aesthetic look and reliability (as far as I can tell).

One other point to the RM010: the new rubber strap will initially be available for the RM010 and RM011, so if you want to be able to change straps (see Peter's brilliant explanation on how to attempt this  - not for the faint of heart!), then the RM010 offers this possibility.
